Statement of Faith
• THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God, providentially preserved in the English Authorized King James Version, and as such, is “the holy scriptures” and thereby “given by inspiration of God” (Proverbs 30:5; Psalm 12:6,7; II Timothy 3:15-17).
• JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His vicarious atonement, His bodily resurrection, and His second coming (John 1:1; Isaiah 7:14; I John 2:1-2).
We believe salvation is “by grace through faith” in the finished work of Jesus Christ, and “not by works of righteousness which we have done.” Furthermore, we adhere to the Bible position and Baptist adherence that the believer’s soul is eternally secure after salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; John 5:24).
We believe in two scriptural uses of the word “church” (the spiritual body of Christ, consisting of all believers, and each local assembly of believers). We believe that all people who have been born again are a part of “the church, which is his body,” and therefore should join an autonomous local church. Furthermore, we believe the Biblical church to be an Independent Bible believing (KJV) Baptist Church separate from religio-political bosses. We believe in two church ordinances: Water baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and two offices: Pastor and Deacon (I Corinthians 1:16, 11:23-27, 12:13; Ephesians 1:22-23; I Timothy 3:1-13).
• SPIRITUAL GIFTS, MIRACLES, SIGNS, AND TONGUES
We believe the gifts of the Spirit as found in 1 Corinthians 12 are given today for the ministry to all parts of the body of Christ with the exception of those gifts which are specifically called “signs.” We believe those gifts which are signs, wonders, or miracles were given by the Spirit during the beginning of the church, as found recorded in the book of Acts as a sign to the Jews and were utilized to (1) identify an apostle (2) to convince unbelieving Jews (3) to confirm the word or scripture that was being spoken by the apostles, but was not yet in written form as we have it today. We believe the apostolic age has ceased with the rejection of Christ by the nation of Israel and therefore reject speaking in tongues, and supernatural healing as found in the apostolic ministry (I Cor. 12:1-11; Mark 16:16-18; Acts 2:4, 5, 43; Acts 3:7, 12; Acts 5:12; II Cor. 12:12; I Cor. 1:21-22; I Cor. 14:21-22; Mark 16:20; Heb. 2:3-4; James 5:14-16; I Cor. 11:30-32; II Thess. 2:8-9; I Tim. 4:1-2; Matt. 24:5, 11, 24).
• THEOLOGY, BIBLE INTERPRETATION, AND PROPHECY
We subscribe to a moderate dispensational theology which is simply following God’s method of Bible interpretation of rightly dividing the word of truth. Dispensations are different as are the ways people were saved in the Old Testament as compare with now during the Church Age. We reject Calvinism and Reformed theology, and hold to the biblical view of prophecy that the rapture of the church could happen at any time. We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture as well as the future Judgment Seat of Christ for born again believers following the rapture. We also believe in the pre-millennial return of Christ to the earth after the Great Tribulation, where He will rule and reign for 1000 years. We believe that after the millennium the earth will be destroyed by fire leading to the Great White Throne Judgment, after which God will create a new heavens and a new earth (Phil. 3:20; I Thess. 1:10; I Thess. 5:6, 11; Titus 2:13; Rev. 4:1; I Thess. 4:13-17; I Cor. 15:51-53; Rom. 14:10; II Cor. 5:10; II Tim. 4:1; I Cor. 4:5; I Cor. 3:9-15; Col. 3:23-24; II Tim. 2:10-12; Rev. 19:11-21; Acts 1:10-11; Rev. 16:12-16; Matt. 25:31-46; Rev. 20:1-6; Rom. 11:25-27; Deut. 28:13; Matt. 19:28; Isa. 11:1-10; Isa. 9:6-7; Luke 1:32-33; Isa. 24:23; Rev. 20:11-15; Rev. 20:5-6; Matt. 23:14; Rev. 14:10-11; Rev. 21:8; Rev. 21:1-22; Psalm 16:11).
We are Baptist in doctrine, and traditional in views of music and worship. We subscribe to a moderate dispensationalism, and are anti-Calvinistic in theology. We hold the Biblical position along with the Reformers that the Roman Catholic Church is “the great whore” of Revelation 17, and are against the falsehoods taught in the major seminaries across the country: the lies of higher and lower criticism of the word of God. We also believe in a practical, Biblical Christianity: prayer, personal work, giving, ministering to the saints, and a daily walk with Jesus Christ.
